TESTIMONY BY GAIL – A SPECIAL GIFT FROM OUR LADY
Imagine this …. 1970 during the height of hippiedom, freedom and love for all …
Catholic parents give their 2 daughters the most beautiful gifts of A rosary to celebrate the one’s Holy Communion and the other’s Confirmation.
Fast forward to 2021 when the then first Holy Communicant (now a mom and widow) is actively seeking a closer relationship with God. Subsequently, I signed up as an adorer at GSP Adoration Chapel, realising that our Mother Mary is integral to my need and desire to forge a more significant relationship with Jesus. So, like most Catholics, I did quite a lot of reading and come across stories of Mary appearing at Medjugorje and the messages she shared at both Medjugorje and other parts of the world – a consistent message to pray, fast, confess and receive holy communion. I tried to comply, although not always successfully.
In the interim, God blessed me with an opportunity of a pilgrimage to Medjugorje So, getting back to my rosary which I use every Friday at our Chapel – the one gifted to celebrate my First Holy Communion. At the Chapel on Friday 28 Aug. I removed my rosary from its container and noticed that it looked quite shiny, but chose to focus on prayer instead (Phew, that was a big ask knowing how distracted I can be). After adoration and Mass, I drove home and took my rosary out of its holder. Overcome with deep emotion, I realised that the previously silver links had turned gold. I even tried to clean the links in the event that gold colour could rub off.
Stunned, I called Estelle as she if aware of others parishioners from GSP who had similar experiences. Estelle wasted no time to visit and confirmed that the rosary links were indeed gold. Understanding that we are all differ. and some may choose to believe that this is the result of a chemical reaction. I KNOW that Our Lady has sent this message and blessing for me to continue on this path. I am so in awe of this gift.
I pray that this testimony provides hope and strengthens our faith and resolve to do as Mary has asked – to continue praying, fasting, confessing and receiving the Holy Eucharist at Mass as often as we can.
