The Apostles Creed (for new version click on Order of Mass Link – under
construction)
I believe in God, the Father Almighty, Creator of Heaven and Earth. I
believe in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord, who was conceived by the
Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary. He suffered under Pontius Pilate,
was crucified, died and was buried. He descended to the dead. On the third
day, He rose again. He ascended into Heaven and is seated at the right hand
of the Father. He will come again to judge the living and the dead.
I believe in the Holy Spirit, The holy, catholic, Church, The communion of
saints, The forgiveness of sins, The resurrection of the body, and the life
everlasting. Amen.

The Lord's Prayer
Our Father, who art in Heaven, hallowed be Thy Name. Thy kingdom come, Thy
will be done, on earth as it is in Heaven. Give us this day our daily bread
and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us.
And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen.

The Hail Mary
Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou amongst
women and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, mother of God,
pray for us sinners now and at the hour of our death. Amen.

The Glory Be to the Father
Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the holy Spirit as it was in
the beginning, is now and forever shall be. World without end. Amen.

Oh My Jesus
Oh My Jesus. Save us from the fires of hell and lead all souls to
Heaven, especially those in most need of Thy Mercy.

Salve Regina
Hail, Holy Queen, Mother of Mercy, our life, our sweetness and our hope
To you do we cry, poor banished children of Eve.
To you do we send up our sighs mourning and weeping in this vale of tears.
Turn then, most gracious advocate your eyes of mercy towards us and after
this our exile
show to us the blessed fruit of your womb, Jesus.
O clement, O loving, O sweet Virgin Mary.
Pray for us that we may be made worthy of the promises of Christ.

Prayer after the Rosary
O God, whose only-begotten Son, by His Life, Death, and Resurrection, has
purchased for us the rewards of eternal life; grant, we beseech You,
that, meditating upon these Mysteries of the Most Holy Rosary of the Blessed
Virgin Mary, we may imitate what they contain and obtain what they promise,
through the same Christ our Lord. Amen.
May the divine assistance remain always with us. Amen.
Top
Prayer to Saint Michael the Archangel
St Michael the Archangel, defend us in battle; be our protection
against the wickedness and snares of the devil; may God rebuke him, we
humbly pray; and do thou, O Prince of the Heavenly Host, by the power
of God, thrust into hell satan and all evil spirits who wander through the
world for the ruin of souls.

Prayer to Our Guardian Angel
Angel of God, my Guardian Dear; to whom God's love commits me here. Ever
this day be at my side, To light and guard, to rule and guide. Amen.

Prayer to the Holy Spirit
Come Holy Spirit, fill the hearts of Thy faithful and kindle in them the
fire of Thy love.
Send forth Thy Spirit, and they shall be created. And Thou shall renew
the face of the earth.

The Confiteor
I confess to almighty God and to you, my brothers and sisters, that I have
greatly sinned in my thoughts and words, in what I have done and in what I
have failed to do, (striking the breast, say) through my fault, through my
fault, through my most grievous fault; therefore I ask blessed Mary
ever-Virgin, all the Angels and Saints, and you, my brothers and sisters, to
pray for me to the Lord our God.
Top
Act of Contrition
O my God, because you are so good, I am very sorry that I have sinned
against you and by the help of your grace I will not sin again.
Top
The Memorare
Remember, O most loving Virgin Mary, that it is a thing unheard of, that
anyone ever had recourse to your protection, implored your help, or sought
your intercession, and was left forsaken. Filled therefore with
confidence in your goodness, I fly to you, O Mother, Virgin of virgins.
To you I come, before you I stand, a sorrowful sinner. Despise not my
poor words, O Mother of the Word of God, but graciously hear and grant my
prayer.

an angel, may be brought by his passion and cross to the glory of his
resurrection, through the same Christ our Lord. Amen.

Prayer for Vocations
0 Jesus, Good and Gentle Shepherd grant that the men and women from our community,
may have the grace and the courage to hear and answer Your call to priesthood and religious life.
Give them the wisdom to realize that life is a gift.
Let them realise their life is part of YOUR plan.
Call forth those You have chosen to spread the gospel message,
and help them to freely respond to a life of service in the church.
May the parents and families of our parish,
support and encourage our young men and women to search for, follow and answer
the call of God in their lives. Amen.

Prayer of St Francis
Lord, make me an instrument of your peace
Where there is hatred, let me sow love
where there is injury, pardon
where there is discord, union
where there is doubt, faith
where there is despair, hope
where there is darkness, light
where there is sadness, joy
for your mercy and truth's sake
O Divine Master, grant that I may not so much seek
to be consoled as to console
to be understood as to understand
to be loved and to love
for it is in giving that we receive
it is in pardoning that we are pardoned
it is in dying that we are born to eternal life.

Novenas
A Novena is nine days of public or private prayer for some special occasion
or intention. Its origin goes back to the 9 days that the
disciples and Mary spent together in prayer between the Ascension of Jesus
and Pentecost. A novena is perseverance in prayer – see Lk 18:1-8
about the Widow and the Judge.

Our Lady of Lourdes, heal us, for the conversion of sinners.
Health of the sick, pray for us. Succour of sufferers, pray for us.
O Mary, conceived without sin, pray for us who have recourse to Thee.
Then say Our Father, Hail Mary and Glory Be three times in honour of the
Immaculate Conception.

Novena To St. Jude
Most holy Apostle, St. Jude, faithful servant and friend of Jesus, the
Church honours and invokes you universally, as the patron of difficult
cases, of things almost despaired of, Pray for me, I am so helpless and
alone. Intercede with God for me that He bring visible and speedy help
where help is almost despaired of. Come to my assistance in this great
need that I may receive the consolation and help of heaven in all my
necessities, tribulations, and sufferings, particularly -
(make your request here)
- and that I may praise God with you and all the saints forever. I
promise, O Blessed St. Jude, to be ever mindful of this great favor
granted me by God and to always honour you as my special and powerful
patron, and to gratefully encourage devotion to you. Amen
PRAYER
May the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus be adored, and loved in all the
tabernacles until the end of time. Amen.
May the most Sacred Heart of Jesus be praised and glorified now and forever.
Amen
St. Jude pray for us and hear our prayers. Amen.
Blessed be the Sacred Heart of Jesus
Blessed be the Immaculate Heart of Mary
Blessed be St. Jude Thaddeus, in all the world and for all Eternity.
(say this prayer, followed by the Our Father and the Hail Mary)
Dear Apostle and Martyr for Christ, you left us an Epistle in the New
Testament. With good reason many invoke you when illness is at a desperate
stage. We now recommend to your kindness
{name of patient}
who is in a critical condition. May the cure of this patient increase
his/her faith and love for the Lord of Life, for the glory of our merciful
God. Amen.

The Chaplet of The Divine Mercy
Begin with the Sign of the Cross, 1 Our Father, 1 Hail Mary and The Apostles
Creed.
Then on the Our Father Beads say the following:
Eternal Father, I offer You the Body and Blood, Soul and Divinity of Your
dearly beloved Son, Our Lord Jesus Christ, in atonement for our sins and
those of the whole world.
On the 10 Hail Mary Beads say the following:
For the sake of His sorrowful Passion, have mercy on us and on the whole
world.
(Repeat step 2 and 3 for all five decades).
Conclude with (three times):
Holy God, Holy Mighty One, Holy Immortal One, have mercy on us and on the
whole world.
Jesus said later to Sister Faustina:
"Say unceasingly this chaplet that I have taught you. Anyone who says it
will receive great Mercy at the hour of death. Priests will recommend it to
sinners as the last hope. Even the most hardened sinner, if he recites this
Chaplet even once, will receive grace from My Infinite Mercy. I want the
whole world to know My Infinite Mercy. I want to give unimaginable graces to
those who trust in My Mercy...."
"....When they say this Chaplet in the presence of the dying, I will stand
between My Father and the dying person not as the just judge but as the
Merciful Saviour".

Stations of the Cross
1. Jesus
is condemned to death.
Consider how Jesus, after having been scourged and crowned with thorns, was
unjustly condemned by Pilate to die on the Cross..
2. Jesus
receives and carries the Cross.
Consider how Jesus, in making this journey with the Cross on his shoulders,
thought of us, and offered for us to his Father the death he was about to
undergo.
3. Jesus
falls for the first time.
Consider the first fall of Jesus under his Cross. His flesh was torn
by the scourges, his head was crowned with thorns; he had lost a great
quantity of blood. So weakened he could scarcely walk, he yet had to
carry this great load upon his shoulders. The soldiers struck him
rudely, and he fell several times.
4. Jesus
is met by his Blessed Mother.
Consider this meeting of the Son and the Mother, which took place on this
journey. Their looks became llike so many arrows to wound those hearts
which loved each other so tenderly.
5. The
Cross is laid upon Simon of Cyrene.
Consider how his cruel tormentors, seeing that Jesus was on the point of
expiring, and fearing he would die on the way, whereas they wished him to
die the shameful death of the Cross, constrained Simon of Cyrene to carry
the Cross behind our Lord.
6. Veronica wipes the face of Jesus.
Consider how the holy woman named Veronica, seeing Jesus so ill-used, and
bathed in sweat and blood, wiped his face with a towel, on which was left
the impression of his holy countenance.
7. Jesus
falls the second time.
Consider the second fall of Jesus under the Cross – a fall which renews the
pain of all the wounds in his head and members.
8. The
women of Jerusalem mourn for our Lord.
Consider how these women wept with compassion at seeing Jesus in such a
pitable state, streaming with blood, as he walked along. ‘Daughters of
Jerusalem, said he, ‘weep not me for me, but for yourselves and for your
children’.
9. Jesus
falls for the third time.
Consider the third fall of Jesus Christ. His weakness was extreme, and
the cruelty of his executioners excessive, who tried to hasten his steps
when he could scarcely move.
10. Jesus is stripped
of his garments.
Consider the violence with which Jesus was stripped by the executioners.
His inner garments adhered to his torn flesh, and they dragged them off so
roughly that the skin came with them. Take pity on your Saviour thus
cruelly treated.
11. Jesus is nailed to
the Cross.
Consider how Jesus, having been placed upon the Cross, extended his hands,
and offered to his Eternal Father the sacrifice of his life for our
salvation. Those barbarians fastened him with nails, and then,
securing the Cross, allowed him to die with anguish on this infamous gibbet.
12. Jesus dies on the
Cross.
Consider how Jesus, being consumed with anguish after three hours’ agony on
the Cross, abandoned himself to the weight of his body, bowed his head and
died.
13. Jesus is taken
down from the Cross.
Consider how, after our Lord had expired, two of his disciples, Joseph and
Nicodemus, took him down from the Cross and placed him in the arms of his
afflicted Mother, who received him with unutterable tenderness, and pressed
him to her bosom.
14. Jesus is placed in
the sepulchre.
Consider how the disciples, accompanied by his holy Mother, carried
the body of Jesus to bury it. They closed the tomb, and all came
sorrowfully away.
